    To meet the change of people’s reading habits and the changing needs of the contemporary libraries, in 2013, an eye-catching "E-book" button appeared in the middle of the home page of the "Window of Shanghai" website (http://windowofshanghai.library.sh.cn/), marking the occasion that the "Window of Shanghai" e-book service was officially launched (http://www.apabi.com/wos).
    On the basis of the traditional physical donation, the "Window of Shanghai" has launched a new e-book donation service to its partners. Since the beginning of this service, it has largely received good comments and praise from the global partners and users.
    According to the demands of the partners and their users as well as the development needs of the project itself, currently, the "Window of Shanghai" has increased the scope of e-books services from the original one thousand titles of books to 10,059 titles of e-books, 227 titles of reference books and 30 newspapers.The "Window of Shanghai" e-book website provides free online reading and downloading services of e-books published by a number of publishers at home and abroad, including China Intercontinental Press, Shanghai People's Publishing House, Fudan University Press, Anhui Children's Publishing House, Guangdong Education Press, Harbin Publishing House, Hong Kong University Press, Penguin Publishing, Dorling Kindersley UK.
    The e-books cover many subjects, such as literature, art, culture, science, education, sports, history, geography, language, philosophy, religion, politics, law, economics, industrial technology, environmental science and so on. They are in different languages, including Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, German, Russian, French, Chinese, Kirgiz language, Kyrgyz, Mongolian, Japanese, Italian, Indonesian, English, Vietnamese, and Chinese-French bilingual, bilingual Chinese and Korean, Chinese and Japanese bilingual, bilingual Chinese and Thai, Chinese Indonesian bilingual Chinese-English bilingual, so as to meet the needs of readers in different language groups.
